Mathematical Model

The mathematical model involves initiation, propagation, termination and chain transfer reactions. It was assumed that rate constants are independent of the polymer chain length. The critical polymer chain length i0 was determined in order to evaluate the amount of the insoluble polymer component V(i0,t). It has been shown that the model predicts the effect of autoacceleration on the formation of the insoluble polymer component. In order to demonstrate the applicability of the mathematical model for description of dispersion radical polymerization, the evolution of the size distribution of growing polystyrene particles has been measured with the Scanning Flow Cytometer
